Materials are often used to package food products for effective and efficient sale and distribution. These materials, which come into direct and indirect contact with foods, must be regulated by national agencies. Food Packaging Regulations is a course that surveys the laws and regulations governing the packaging of food products in the United States. We examine the material chemistry, toxicology, and microbiological considerations when using various additives and packaging materials.
